Greening the World Through Design

Or a honeypot for green dreamers

An Industrial Revolution and two World Wars bled out the old ways of living on the land, to replace them with a capital-led, science-fed version. Then came permaculture to claim for itself those wiser ways as mankind's salvation.

Permaculture does addresses the land-use component for keeping us sustainable once the pending crises have passed, but to become the bridge for that change it never will.

Unless that proportion of us who own a hectare or more of land suddenly increases, it will remain just an ideal for the armchair dreamers who don't, and a bone to chew in private for those who do. In the wider world of biological farming (agroecology) permaculture is just an aftermint for the well-fed.
