They did their best to put her out of business. In 2006, Martha Boneta bought a tattered, two hundred year-old farm there on 64 beautiful acres, (Virginia, US) . It was her ambition to become a working farmer and grow home-grown, organic produce for her community. After two years of renovating the property, she planted crops and brought in livestock.
But, unbeknownst to her, the Fauquier County had a reputation for being run by an interconnected web of politicians and local officials aligned with an environmental group and powerful landowners dedicated to preventing commercial activity and development in the area.
